Death In Police Custody: Sylhet Lawyers Now Refused To Represent SI Akbar In Court

Sylhet legal counselors again have set a model as no attorneys showed up for the denounced suspended SI Akbar in court during the remand hearing. 

Secretary General Advocate Fazlul Haque Suman of Sylhet locale attorneys' affiliation said they didn't partake in the legitimate procedures for the benefit of such an offensive crook. The legal counselors have chosen to do as such from their own stand, Suman added. 

A Sylhet court on Tuesday permitted the PBI to take sub-Inspector (SI) Akbar Hossain Bhuiyan in its guardianship for seven days for cross examination into the case petitioned for tormenting Raihan Ahmed to death at Bandar Bazar police station in Sylhet on October 11. 

Prior September 28, Sylhet legal counselors took a similar position during the remand becoming aware of three charged in the MC College assault case after police created them under the steady gaze of the court.

The image of mass beating claimed by the police did not match in the CCTV camera

A youth named Raihan Uddin Ahmed (34) died at the Bandarbazar outpost of Kotwali police station after being injured in a mass beating in a wooded area of Sylhet city, police claimed. However, no such image of mass beating was found in the closed circuit (CC) camera set up by the ward councilor in the area. The wooden house area belongs to ward 14 of Sylhet City Corporation. The entire area is covered by closed circuit (CC) cameras. These cameras are monitored in the office of Ward Councilor Nazrul Islam. Visiting his office on Sunday night, footage captured on CCTV cameras in the Kastghar area from 12pm on Saturday to 6am on Sunday did not show any scenes of mass beatings. Primary-Higher Secondary Education: Major reforms on the horizon

The government plans to overhaul the education system. This will include eliminating public exams prior to class 10, and ensuring that students do not have to take any exams up until class 3. The new curriculum will place less emphasis on memorizing and more emphasis on activity- and experiment-based learning. Yesterday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina approved the outline for the new curriculum. It will be implemented in phases starting January 2023 and fully implemented by 2025. From class 11, the government will also introduce streams, including business studies, science and humanities. Students had to choose from the nine streams within the existing curriculum.
