Bus-Truck Collision Leaves One Dead, 7 Injured In Sylhet

A man was killed and seven others harmed in a crash between a transport and a truck in Osmaninagar upazila in Sylhet on Tuesday. The character of the expired couldn't be known at this point. Witnesses said a Dhaka-bound truck hit a fixed truck out and about around 12:00pm when a transport of 'Greenline Paribahan' hit the truck from behind. The forward portion of the transport got crushed, leaving the transport assistant and seven travelers harmed. The harmed were raced to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital where the harmed partner kicked the bucket. Official in-Charge of Osmaninagar police headquarters Shyamol Banik said the transport and truck were taken out from the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway.

The image of mass beating claimed by the police did not match in the CCTV camera

A youth named Raihan Uddin Ahmed (34) died at the Bandarbazar outpost of Kotwali police station after being injured in a mass beating in a wooded area of Sylhet city, police claimed. However, no such image of mass beating was found in the closed circuit (CC) camera set up by the ward councilor in the area. The wooden house area belongs to ward 14 of Sylhet City Corporation. The entire area is covered by closed circuit (CC) cameras. These cameras are monitored in the office of Ward Councilor Nazrul Islam. Visiting his office on Sunday night, footage captured on CCTV cameras in the Kastghar area from 12pm on Saturday to 6am on Sunday did not show any scenes of mass beatings. Individuals from Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) captured another cop, who was suspended over the passing of Raihan at Bandarbazar police station, from Sylhet policelines on Friday night. The arrestee is Harun Rashid, a constable of Bandarbazar Police Outpost, said Khalekuzzaman, administrator of Sylhet Police.
