Rafiqul put on 7-day remand

Rafiqul was detained on March 25 out of Motijheel place in a demonstration protesting in the trip of Indian prime minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of their golden jubilee of independence and later he had been freed. Rafiqul, also manager of Saoatul Hera Madrassah at Paschim Bilashpur at Netrakona, allegedly delivered provocative speech at a Waj Mahfil in Gachha recently. A Dhaka court on Thursday put Rafiqul Islam Madani, popularly known as Shishu Bokta, on a 7-day remand in a case registered under the Digital Security Act for delivering'anti-state and provocative' speeches. Dhaka metropolitan magistrate court judge Abu Sufian Md Noman passed the arrangement at a digital hearing after which the investigation officer of the case sought a 10-day remand to interrogate Shishu Bokta. Rafiqul Islam was set on 4-day remand in a different instance registered with Motijheel police station earlier on April 21. A Gazipur court to prison on April 8 when he was born before the court in the case. He is also assistant vice-president of Juba Jamiat, a wing of Jamiat-e-Ulama-Islam of Netrakona.
